Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMFT), also called reparative technique is used to treat non-union fractures, failed fusions, congenital pseudarthrosis, and depression.
When used to address bone healing, PEMF uses electrical energy to direct a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue. Each magnetic pulse triggers electrical signals within the tissue which stimulates cellular repair and healing.
PEMFT is typically used within the field of orthopedics.
