Respiratory-Supporting

Respiratory-supporting refers to a substance or treatment that helps to improve or support the function of the respiratory system. These interventions are often used to prevent respiratory issues or treat conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Examples of respiratory-supporting agents include bronchodilators, which relax the muscles in the airways to help improve airflow, and oxygen therapy, which provides extra oxygen to the lungs. Other types of respiratory-supporting agents include corticosteroids, which help to reduce inflammation in the airways, and mechanical ventilators, which help to support breathing in people who are unable to breathe on their own.
