Saliva testing is a means of measuring the adrenal hormone cortisol to assess the stress response in a patient. This may be used as an indicator of how well the body is coping with stress and identifying biochemical imbalances. Saliva testing may be utilized when assessing conditions such as chronic stress, anxiety, obesity, depression, insomnia, adrenal fatigue, and diabetes.
